CFF money funds new campus gardens

Students and staff at Otay Elementary School in Chula Vista, CA excitedly display their Garden Grant Check. Otay Elementary was chosen as one of the January 2016 recepients of the grant.

CFF's 20th Annual Golf
Will Provide Fun For All!
The California Fertilizer Foundation (CFF) 20th Annual Golf Tournament will be held June 4, 2019 at the Stockton Golf and Country Club in Stockton, California. The proceeds from the golf tournament support the Garden Grant Program, which annually awards $1,200 to 12 schools throughout California for new and existing school garden programs, and contributes to the Student-Industry Dinners that provides university agricultural students with the invaluable opportunity to mingle and connect with industry representatives currently working in the plant science field.

New Edition of Horticulture Western Fertilizer Handbook For Sale

Years in the making, CFF is pleased to announce that the new Western Fertilizer Handbook, Third Horticulture Edition, is now available for purchase. This book presents fertilization, nutrient management, and related topics based on the fundamentals of biological and physical sciences. It is a must-read for professionals in the nursery, golf turf and landscape fields.

The information in this book is set in a horticulture context so that it can be more easily understood by the student and the amateur horticulturist and more rapidly applied by the industry professional. The publication is widely used in high schools and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada. You can ORDER IT here.

School Garden Program

Teachers interested in starting or expanding a garden, in a public or private school, are invited to apply for one of 24 CFF School Garden Grants of $1,200 plus educational materials. Preschools must be located on the grounds of a K-12 school to be considered. The deadline for the next round of applications is June 14, 2019.
